Miami University extends deadlines for priority financial aid and admitted student confirmation
Miami University has extended its deadlines for priority financial aid consideration and for students to accept their admission offer.
March 1 is the extended priority deadline to submit the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The original priority deadline was Feb. 1.
Colleges and universities aren’t expected to receive FAFSA applicant information until early March, instead of the previous estimate of late January, the Department of Education recently announced.
“In order to respond to the needs of students who will rely on federal aid to finance their education, while still prioritizing our ability to serve them well in their transition, Miami University has opted to adjust our deadlines,” said Bethany Perkins, interim vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).
Miami also extended its deadline for students to accept their offer of admission to May 15. The previous deadline was May 1.
With the help of campus admission partners, including Campus Services, Orientation and Transition Programs, Residence Life, and Student Financial Assistance, Perkins said all housing and orientation registration options would be available to students who accept their admission offer by 11:59 p.m. ET on May 15.
In addition, an extra Make it Miami! date has been added for April 19. Make it Miami! events are the university’s open houses for first-year admitted students, which give students and their families the opportunity to meet Miami faculty and current students and explore academic, residential, and extracurricular options.
