On Tuesday, Sept. 17, 65 candidates from 35 countries took the oath to become citizens of the United States of America. Held at Miami University Regionals Hamilton and conducted by the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the naturalization ceremony was part of Citizenship and Democracy Week. Events of the week were co-sponsored by the Menard Family Center for Democracy and the Department of Justice and Community Studies to provide students and local residents with opportunities to learn about American democracy and see the government in action.

Jeff Sabo of University Communications and Marketing provided photos from the ceremony.
