Miami University announces partnership with TriHealth, Beacon
TriHealth, Beacon will be exclusive providers for sports medicine and rehabilitation services for RedHawk student-athletes
The 10-year agreement makes TriHealth and Beacon the official sports medicine partners of Miami Athletics. TriHealth and Beacon will be the exclusive providers for sports medicine and rehabilitation services for Miami.
“We are grateful for the game-changing investment toward Miami Athletics by both TriHealth and Beacon, but we are also excited about enhancing the partnership they share within the Miami campus and Oxford community as well,” said David Sayler, Miami’s director of athletics. “Having TriHealth and Beacon in our corner will ensure our student-athletes’ well-being on and off the field as they pursue their goals of graduating as champions from Miami University.”
One of the premier health care providers in the region, TriHealth provides a wide range of clinical, educational, preventive, and social programs. TriHealth also operates Miami’s employee and student clinics, which are located in the Clinical Health Sciences and Wellness facility.
Founded in 1996 as a multi-physician practice providing orthopedic care to the Cincinnati community, Beacon has grown into a nationally known and respected provider of sports medicine and orthopedic care with locations in Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana.
“Miami strives for excellence in its athletic program, and we understand the demands of high-level competition,” said Dr. Timothy Kremchek, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with Beacon. “We are committed to delivering the same level of care that we provide to professional athletes like the Cincinnati Reds. From timely diagnoses to integrated treatment plans, our goal is to ensure athletes’ health and safety for the long term, allowing them to focus on excelling both on and off the field.”
Miami Athletics serves more than 500 NCAA Division I student-athletes across 19 varsity sports.
“This latest collaboration between TriHealth and Miami University marks the next, natural phase of deepening our relationship based on our shared efforts towards a healthier community and Miami's vision for a health-and wellbeing-focused campus,” said Terri Hanlon Bremer, TriHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “TriHealth already partners with the university to provide health care services to Miami students, faculty and staff through the student medical center as well as McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital. We are pleased for the opportunity to work with Beacon in providing enhanced athletic health care services to the university for the next decade.”
Beacon, alongside TriHealth, partners with more than 40 area high schools and college athletic programs, as well as 20 recreational programs, six professional sports teams, and over 15 professional sports organizations.
“We’re excited to partner with TriHealth to bring our comprehensive sports medicine expertise to Miami University,” said Andy Blankemeyer, CEO of Beacon. “Beacon and TriHealth are in a unique position to understand the demands student-athletes face, and we’re committed to helping them perform at their best while prioritizing long-term health.”
