The 2019 YouTube music video “ We Are Not The Same Person” by social media influencers Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden became a viral sound across Instagram and TikTok. The song was inspired by the fact that the two influencers were often confused as being the same person.
The “ We Are Not The Same Person” sound gained popularity with TikTok users to showcase their doppelgangers. With so much confusion around Miami University and University of Miami, this sound was the perfect opportunity to set the record straight with fans.

3. Solar Eclipse Makes Appearance on Campus

On April 8, 2024, Miami University and the Oxford community were in the pathway of a total solar eclipse. Miami’s photographers went out on campus and captured this rare moment in time, and their shots were well received by social media users.

5. Ivy and Newton Halloween Shoot

Spooky season is always a real treat on campus and Miami University President Greg Crawford and Ambassador Dr. Renate Crawford’s dogs Ivy and Newton were ready to greet students at Lewis Place at their Halloween Open House. This year, the two dawned salt and pepper shaker costumes. The photoshoot was one to see as the two posed for the camera and enjoyed the beautiful fall foliage on Oxford’s campus.
Their photo shoot generated 7,508 engagements and was met with positive reactions.
